WANDERERS boss John Gorman wants to keep tabs on Basingstoke's Argentinian midfielder Sergio Torres.

Gorman revealed that Blues were watching the former Boca Juniors youngster last season and his performance for 'Stoke against Wycombe on Tuesday showed just why.

The central midfielder, who also attracted the interest of Leyton Orient last season, was the home side's star and again caught Wycombe's eye.

Gorman said: "You can see why people talk about him.

"We looked at him last year and he's certainly a player. He's got nice touches and with better players around him who knows what he could be like.

"I would think he could be worth a look in training."

Getting him in could be difficult though. He is the middle of a two-year contract at Basingstoke and that's what ended Orient's interest.
