Luke Donald missed out on becoming an instant millionaire when he went out of the World Matchplay Championship at Wentworth on Friday.
The Beaconsfield and Hazlemere Golf Club member was looking good after he thrashed 2004 Ryder Cup captain Bernhard Langer seven and six.
But the fifth seed came unstuck in the quarter-finals, winning just one hole all day and losing nine and eight.
