JOHN Gorman watched his Wanderers side go four points clear at the top of League Two and then said: "We should be further ahead."

Blues have drawn 11 of their 21 league games and the Wycombe boss accepts his team will have to overcome stifling tactics if they want to start turning one point into three.

He said: "We should have had a lot more points on the board now. I'm not being arrogant about it, but we've drawn too many games that we should have won comfortably.

"I don't mean games like Rochdale or Grimsby. They were hard games and we won them both.

"Rochdale and Grimsby both tried to beat us, to their detriment in the end, and maybe if they'd come here and tried to play defensively they might have got us on the break.

"But we've taken six points off two teams that are at the top with us and I think that proves our hardest matches are against the teams that come here and try to put us off our stride and stop us from playing."

Striker Tommy Mooney agreed with his manager.

He admits the onus is on the players to break down stubborn opponents, especially at home.

Mooney said: "Winning our home games is going to be very, very important.

"Teams come here, put ten men behind the ball and hope for a 0-0. A couple of them have got it.

"We've not been outplayed here but when they get the first goal, or the longer they go at 0-0, the more men they put behind the ball and we just struggle to score against them.

"That's been the one and only problem we've had."

Gorman added: "We've missed some chances in a few games, but our attitude has been fantastic and you can't really knock 21 games unbeaten.

"I love looking at the league-table now. I'll look at it 100 times a night.

"We're at the top and we want to stay at the top."
