WANDERERS are to close their High Wycombe shop after admitting it wasn't financially viable.

The Wanderers in Town store, situated on the upper floor of the Octagon shopping centre, will be shut on January 14.

Operations manager Garry Adamson said: "We have had good support over the years from fans for Wanderers in Town and we would like to thank everyone that used it.

"Unfortunately though, in financial terms, while the shop perform well during busy periods such as Christmas and following the immediate launch of a new shirt, the rest of the time we would lose money."

The shop's location moved in 2004 but did not bring about the increase in sales Blues bosses had hoped.

But Wanderers are hoping that the another shop can be opened in the future.

Adamson said: "We are aware that in marketing terms it has done a lot of good in spreading the word so when circumstances change we will certainly consider reopening in another town centre location at some time."

Blues fans looking for merchandise will be able to use the club's website www.wwfc.com while the stadium's shop will now open on weekdays as well as on matchdays.

Supporters who bought match tickets at the shop are being urged to use the ticket office, the stadium shop or the club's website.
