WANDERERS boss John Gorman is on the lookout for another defender after Bristol City recalled Richard Keogh after his loan period at Adams Park ended.

Gorman said: "It's a shame he has to go back. He's been fantastic for us, but he is their player and they want him back."

"Maybe I can convince them to let him come back here for a month if they don't need him. He's only 19 and we need another defender."

Keogh would welcome the opportunity to return.

He said: "I've had such a good month here I'm a bit gutted to be going back now. I'd have been more than happy to stay but obviously Bristol City is my club and there is nothing I can do about it."

Keogh said: "It will be a different vibe at Bristol. Wycombe are top of the league and unbeaten so everyone is buzzing. It's such a good environment to play football in.

"I was getting a bit down at Bristol but coming here got me going again.

And after seeing Wanderers close-up, Keogh is optimistic about their promotion prospects.

He said: "I think it can only get better. The lads are playing unbelievably well and there are good people around them, with a good manager and good coach. I can only see them kicking on.

"With the work ethic here, I don't think there are too many teams in this division that can stop them."
