WYCOMBE Wanderers were out in Marlow last week to urge football fans to kick the habit.
Players from John Gorman's League Two side were supporting national No Smoking Day, which officially took place on Wednesday.
The team, which has a training pitch off Marlow Road, urged aspiring young footballers and fans to "ditch fags for fitness".
Roger Johnson, club captain, said: "Smoking affects lung capacity, breathing, energy levels and circulation so your physical fitness, in terms of performance and endurance, will be significantly worse if you are a smoker."
Wanderers teamed up with the Buckinghamshire NHS Stop Smoking Service BSSS to show their support.
