WANDERERS have signed centre half Lewis Christon on a two-year professional deal to ward off interest from Premiership giants Chelsea and Arsenal.
The London duo have both been showing an interest in the 17-year-old from Milton Keynes who has been on Wycombe's books since he was 12.
Blues' head of youth Colin Barnes said: "We wanted to get him signed up. There's been a lot of interest in the boy from some big clubs.
"He's got lots of potential but he's still got a lot to learn.
"He's not good enough for the first team yet but if he keeps working and learning he could be one that comes through."
Christon was a centre forward when Wanderers first spotted him playing, but he has now been converted to a centre half by the club.
Christon played for the reserves in their Berks and Bucks Cup semi-final against Beaconsfield Sycob on Monday night but a foot injury meant that he failed to complete the 90 minutes.
