OSPREYS have signed Cardiff Blues fly half Dai Flanagan, reigniting speculation about James Hook’s future at the club after he had previously been linked with Wasps.
The Wales back still has a year to run on his contract but Flanagan’s arrival means Ospreys will have three out-and-out tens next season with Dan Biggar and Gareth Owen already at the club.
Hook, 24, has been playing centre for the club but has said he wants a chance to establish himself at ten.
With Danny Cipriani leaving Wasps and Shaun Edwards’ connections with Wales, Hook appears to be a good fit for the men in black and gold.
Director of rugby Tony Hanks said: “Everyone would love us to say, ‘right, this is who is coming in for Dan’.
“That probably is a little bit disrespectful to Dave Walder because we’re very fortunate to have had two very, very good tens.
“Most teams would kill for one of them.”
