GERRARDS Cross CC staged an incredible comeback to deny Beaconsfield victory on Saturday, and they might even have won their Home Counties match.

Cross were all out for 250 after a staggering display from spinner Shakel Ahmed, who finished with figures of 7-76.

And Beaconsfield were odds on to chase them down as they reached 130 for the loss of just one wicket.

But three wickets for 13 runs hauled Cross back into it before a cluster of four wickets near the end left Beaconsfield's final pair having to bat out the last over to avoid defeat, with the innings finishing on 231-9.
