PATRICK Mendy won £33,000 last week when he boxed his way to the Super Middleweight Prize Fighter title on Sky Sports.
Mendy, who trains with Graham Stevenson at High Wycombe Boxing Club, began the night by knocking out Sam Horton in just 90 seconds.
Horton took Olympic star James Degale five rounds back in May.
Mendy then booked his place in the final with a points win over Daniel Cadman before taking the title with another points victory over Paul David.
At just 19, this was by far the biggest fight of Mendy’s career and will open doors to European title fights now.
