BUCKINGHAMSHIRE is sending a 35-strong team to the English Schools Championships starting in Birmingham today, with Wycombe Phoenix Harriers stars Zac Randall and Pippa Woolven leading the charge.

Randall, 17, will compete in the senior boys event after displaying a stunning turn of pace at the South of England Athletics Championships last month, when he produced a flying finish in the final 150m to win gold in the 800m Woolven will also be competing against athletes much older than her as the 16-year-old takes part in the senior girls 1,500m steeplechase.

Woolven is also in electric form after winning silver at the South of England Athletics Championships and then finishing fifth at the U20 National Championships a week later.
