MIDFIELDER Matt Bloomfield goes under the knife today in a bid to cure a groin problem.

The long-serving player, who is approaching 250 Blues appearances, is set to be out for three weeks after the surgery later today.

He hopes to back in first team contention for the Easter double-header against Torquay United and Crewe Alexandra.

There is better news on the injury front for Chris Westwood and Stuart Lewis, who are due back in full training within the next few days.

Defender Westwood has been out with a groin problem and midfielder Lewis suffered ligament damage during the recent defeat to Stevenage.
