ANGRY Andy Leese has vowed to ring the changes after an “embarrassing” defeat for his Chesham United side against Wycombe Wanderers last night.

Leese was left incandescent with rage at his side’s second half capitulation against their professional opponents and says they need to be “a thousand times better” if they are to get anything out of Saturday’s home game with Bashley.

He said his team got “most things wrong” in the second half of the Berks and Bucks Senior Cup semi-final, having fought back in the first half to deservedly level through Steve Wales’ free-kick.

Leese said: “We just came out second half and decided to play like we were in the schoolyard. It was certainly not good enough on the back of Saturday and definitely won’t be good enough this Saturday. I don’t care who we’re playing.

“Will I make changes? Absolutely, definitely. It’s up to the players, not me.”

It was a second defeat for the Generals in the space of four days, but the 1-0 loss at Chippenham is more damaging for their promotion hopes.

Only goal difference is keeping Chesham in the play-off places and with six points separating six teams the promotion chase is set to go right to the wire.

Leese felt his side deserved a draw from their trip to Wiltshire though.

He said: “We started well and had a couple of chances and had a nailed-on penalty in the first two minutes and none of the officials gave it.

“Coxy [Darrell Cox] had one cleared off the line, so did [Steve] Wales. I thought we were worth a point.”

Referring to the top of the table Leese said: “These sides are all on good runs, just when it matters everybody’s doing it. You can’t blink or slip up.

“We have to be better than we were Saturday and a thousand times better than the second half tonight. We were outfought, outplayed, out-thought and generally embarrassed.”
