WYCOMBE’S promotion rivals Bury are now managerless after Alan Knill left to take over at Scunthorpe United.
Knill had been in charge at Gigg Lane for three seasons, missing out on automatic promotion to Wanderers by a single goal in his first season in charge before taking them into the top three again this campaign.
He leaves to take over the position made vacant at Glanford Park after Scunny sacked Ian Barraclough earlier this month.
A statement on the Bury website said: “During his 1,150 days in charge of the Shakers, Alan has turned the club’s fortunes a complete 180 degrees and we place on record our appreciation of this.
“The club would like to thank Alan, Chris [Brass, assistant manager] and Neil [Cutler, goalkeeping coach] for their service to the club.”
Will Knill’s departure help Wycombe Wanderers? Have your say below.
