A CLEAR-the-air talk after Blues’ last home match with Stevenage has helped Wanderers to recover and pick up four points from two away games.

Manager Gary Waddock said after that game, which Wycombe lost 1-0, that performances by his side hadn’t been good enough.

But the Blues boss is delighted with the way his players have responded after drawing at promotion rivals Shrewsbury Town and beating Morecambe 3-0.

He said: “The players weren’t happy with the performances either and we want to make Adams Park a difficult place to come to.

“Credit to the players, the last couple of games they have performed and we have to do that for the remaining eight games.

“I’ve said all along you have to take care of the performance and the result will take care of itself. If you perform, you give yourself a chance of getting a result and we didn’t in the weeks leading up to the Shrewsbury game.”

Waddock added his players were just as annoyed with themselves after the Stevenage game.

He said: “It was quite obvious to everyone the results weren’t what we were looking for and the performances weren’t what we were looking for.”
