NICHOLAS Bignall has gone back to Reading after possibly the shortest-ever Wycombe Wanderers career.

The striker played for 25 minutes against Charlton Athletic last Tuesday as a substitute, having joined Blues on a month's loan just hours before kick-off.

But he picked up an injury in that game and has been sent back to his parent club for treatment.

Manager Gary Waddock said: "I think he could be out for a little while. I believe he went in for an operation as well this week.

"It's unfortunate for him because he wanted games and we were looking for a centre forward for some time. We wish him well and hopefully he has a speedy recovery."
