Lincoln Showground was the venue for yet another successful evening for Amersham-based Evolve Boxing Academy at the weekend.
It was a swift and conclusive win for Jamie Smith, 25 from Marlow, who was competing in the 91kg (heavyweight) category.
He got off to a fast start and floored his opponent in the opening 12 seconds with a straight backhand followed by a lead hand hook. His opponent took a count of eight and in little over a minute, Jamie floored him again with a rear hand uppercut followed by a lead hand hook. Jamie now holds the English Title Belt 91kg.
Natalia Rok competed against a very strong opponent in a thrilling 57kg contest. She won unanimously and was voted by the officials as The Boxer of the Show which consisted of 14 bouts.
Evolve’s club chairman, Jon Lay said: “Evolve Boxing Academy is less than a year old and the success of Jamie and Natalia is further evidence that the hard work and approach of head coach Andy Gill is paying dividends.”
