A young boxer from High Wycombe has been called up to the England squad this weekend to fight in Germany.

Jamal Khan has been in impressive form recently and has earned a deserved call up for the Sven Lange tournament.

Khan will be in the 60kg category and his dad, Istasar, hopes his son can keep progressing up the ladder.

He said: "Jamal has been in good form lately and deserves his call up for England.

"He will be competing with six other team-mates, all of which take part in different categories.

"Jamal is confident he can do well and got to the semi-finals last week up in Liverpool so we are hopeful he can do well."

The tournament begins on Friday and finishes on Sunday, with England fielding a strong team.
