A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash in Stokenchurch on Saturday night.

At around 8.30pm a man was riding a blue Triumph Sports motorcycle on the A40 Oxford Road, when the motorcycle left the road.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in a critical but stable condition.

The crash happened at the junction with Ibstone Road, close to Stokenchurch Dog Rescue and Junction 5 of the M40.

Investigating officer PC Andrew Harper, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit based at Amersham, said: "We are keen to speak to anyone with any information about the collision and in particular we are looking to identify a large vehicle possibly a Land Rover Range Rover which we believe may have been travelling west away from Stokenchurch on the A40.

"We believe the driver of that vehicle may have witnessed the incident.

"I request that anyone with information to please contact Thames Valley Police."
