FASHION students have been busy working their magic for Amersham and Wycombe College's latest production, Mort, which opens this week.

Based on Terry Pratchett's fourth novel from the Discworld series, Mort tells the surreal story of a well-meaning but clumsy apprentice who finds himself employed by none other than Death.

Second year students enrolled on the BTEC National Diploma in Fashion and Clothing have used their creative talents and imagination to bring the Discworld characters to life.

Their costumes include a dazzling array of rustling taffetas, swathes of silk and satins in rainbow colours, witch's tall hats, embroidered collars and cuffs, vintage velvets and plenty of folds and frills.

The costumes will be used throughout Mort's three-night run and will be paraded next month as part of the college's end of year show.

Amersham & Wycombe College presents Terry Pratchett's Mort, from Wednesday, May 14 to Friday, May 16, 7.30pm, at Theatre-on-the-Hill, Amersham Campus, Amersham. Tickets: 01494 585286 or www.amersham.ac.uk
