WARRINGTON residents are six times as likely to receive bad dental treatment than the national average according to research by a law firm specialising in negligence claims.
The Dental Law Partnership said it processes four times more claims against the town's dentists than the national average.
Around 22 out of every 100,000 people have applied for compensation after a bad experience at the dentist and the firm recently helped 24-year-old patient Thomas Parker win £9,000 in compensation after he received poor root canal treatment.
David Corless-Smith from Dental Law Partnership said: “It is difficult to pinpoint exactly why patients are more likely to make a claim against their dentist in certain regions.
"One reason could be that there are more individual dentists consistently providing poor treatment in these areas.
"We handle a significant number of claims in every region and would urge anybody who thinks they may have been a victim of substandard dental work to look into it further."
