A NEW music evening in High Wycombe is hoping to educate and entertain guitar lovers across the area. BBZ Guitars, based in the town, has joined forces with John Hornby Skewes (JHS) to launch the Vintage Guitar Clinic at the Nags Head.

Presented by JHS guitarist and artist liaison manager Gav Coulson, the two hour clinic will feature live music and product demonstrations using the Vintage, Vintage Advance and Vintage Icon Series guitar ranges.

Gav says: "Guitarists tend to get excited when they've seen and heard the Vintage range. Most people say it's the realisation that you don't have to spend a fortune to get something this good."

The evening is interactive and questions are invited throughout, with the audience also having lots of opportunities to try out the guitars for themselves.

The clinic also marks the launch of the Vintage Advance Series range at BBZ's showroom on Lincoln Road. Steve Busby, a former professional guitarist, launched BBZ late last year, and he says: "I want people to be able to come to the showroom, play the guitars and get a feel for what's available.

"For people unsure of what to buy, we'll be happy to talk them through the options, answer any questions they may have and make recommendations."

Steve is passionate about guitars, and he has been collecting, gigging and maintaining an array of guitars, basses and amplifiers since the 1970s.

The Vintage Guitar Clinic is on Wednesday, January 30 at 7.30pm at the Nags Head, London Road, High Wycombe. Tickets cost £2 in advance and can be bought online www.bbzguitarsshop.co.uk/acatalog/clinic.html or from the pub. Everyone who buys a ticket will also benefit from a £20 discount on any Vintage guitar purchased on the night or before February 6.
