Former Wycombe Wanderers manager Martin O’Neill has toyed with the possibility of potentially returning to management.

The 70-year-old told the mid-morning show on Talk Sport that he would be open to role if available.

Speaking on the White and Jordan Show on February 20, he said: “Well if that young man Warnock [Neil], is managing at 93, perhaps there is second wind there [for me].

When asked again if this was a yes or a no answer, the ex-Aston Villa and Sunderland man said ‘of course’ to return to management.

His revelation on live radio was on the same day that Queens Park Rangers supposedly had talks with Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth.

The ex-Premier League side are looking for their third manager of the season, following the departure of Neil Critchley who was fired after just 12 games in charge which resulted in one victory.

It has been reported that Ainsworth’s pending move to West London is a ‘done deal’, although we wait for official confirmation from both Wycombe Wanderers and Queens Park Rangers.
