Wycombe Wanderers right-back Jack Grimmer has insisted that they have ‘got nothing to fear’ when they face Ipswich Town on Good Friday.

The Chairboys travel to Portman Road on April 7 with the Tractor Boys being one of the in form teams in League One.

They have lost just three times since October, and have kept an incredible nine clean sheets in their last 12 matches.

This includes eight consecutive shutouts which have resulted in seven wins.

Additionally, the side from Suffolk could potentially go top of the table if they were to defeat Wycombe, and if Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth Argyle were to drop points against Oxford United and Morecambe respectively.

But Grimmer, who played the full 90 minutes in Wanderers’ 1-0 win over Ipswich in December, believes ‘anyone can beat anyone’ in the league.

He told the Free Press: “We’ve got nothing to fear.

“Yes, they are doing really well but they are a League One team.

“That, for me, is the key factor.

“In this league, we have seen that anyone can beat anyone and we have a good record against them this season, having beaten them already.

“They are enjoying a good run of form but as were we a few weeks back and that’s what happens.

“By all means, I don’t like to get too bogged down by their form as you can only take each game in isolation, especially at this stage.

“We definitely used to the busier periods this season because of the World Cup, we kind of knew that the end of the campaign would be a bit hectic.”

Out of the five matches, the two sides have played one another, Ipswich have won twice (both last season), there have been two draws (both in Wanderers’ promotion year of 2019/20), and Wycombe’s win just before Christmas.

The latter, which ended 1-0 to the Chairboys, was Alfie Mawson’s final professional appearance before retiring due to injury in February.
