Police have released a description of the woman whose body was found in woodland in Naphill on November 11 after reports of a fire, in a bid to identify her.
She has been described as white, around 5ft 2ins and wearing thin rimmed glasses with brown frames.
She was also believed to be wearing a brown anorak which possibly had a hood, size 5 Softlites shoes and had a black retractable walking cane with her when she was found in at around 5.45pm in woodland off Hunts Hill Lane.
Her death is being treated as unexplained. A Home Office post-mortem examination took place yesterday (Sunday) and was inconclusive.
Investigating officer Det Insp Joe Banfield, from Buckinghamshire Force CID, said: “Our priority is to identify the deceased woman so that we can inform her next of kin. It is very important to let her loved ones know what has happened.
“Although extensive work including house-to-house enquiries, an examination of CCTV and a review of missing people cases has been completed I would like to appeal to anyone who recognises someone they know, a friend, family member or a neighbour, for example, fitting the description of this woman to contact police.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who saw a woman matching this description in the Naphill area at around the time of the incident on Friday.
“Our investigation in relation to how the woman died is ongoing and her death remains unexplained at this time.”
Detectives are continuing to investigate the cause of death and a scene watch is in place.
