Firefighters discovered the body of a woman in woodland near High Wycombe following reports of a fire on Friday.

Detectives are investigating in Naphill after the dead body was found at around 5.45pm on November 11 in woodland off Hunts Hill Lane.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Investigating officer Det Insp Joe Banfield, from Buckinghamshire Force CID, said: "I would like to speak to anyone who saw anything out of the ordinary in the area of Hunts Hill Lane, Naphill, between mid afternoon and 5.50pm yesterday.

"This area is popular with dog walkers and so I would urge anyone who saw anything which could assist the investigation to speak to officers."

A post mortem examination is due to take place and a scenewatch remains in place in the area.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Naphill area has been asked to contact Thames Valley Police on 101.
