TV presenter Edd China’s record-breaking sofa will take centre stage at Marlow's lights switch-on this year.
The motor specialist, mechanic and inventor will bring along his three-seater sofa vehicle, popularly known as Casual Lofa, to the event on November 22 as he flicks the switch on the town's Christmas lights this year.
Holding the Guinness World Record for fastest furniture at a chart-topping 87mph, the Casual Lofa is the speediest sofa in the world.
It sports a carefully hand-crafted Mars Bar handbrake, pizza-tray steering wheel, and neat little flower pots that serve as indicators. Under the bonnet – or the cushions – is an A-series Mini engine.
Marlow’s High Street will be transformed into a winter wonderland, with snow from machines, as well as carols and festive music around the double decker bus, which will once again be stationed outside the Chequers pub.
