A popular recruitment agency in Marlow was broken into over the weekend.

Yellow Bricks Recruitment, which is situated on Liston Court and shares its building with Marlow Dentist, had both their entrance and exits damaged, as the burglars entered the property just before midnight on Sunday, January 5.

It is not known how many people were involved in the break in, but after entering the building, the intruders went to the top floor where YBR are based, and tried to kick in the door.

They then left the property to only enter again through the exit.

They did this by breaking the protective chain on the gate at the back of the building, before climbing onto the business’ air conditioning unit and smashing in a window before entering the property.

After looking in the company's cupboards, the intruders left the scene.

It is the second time in just under a month the building has been broken into, as Marlow Dentist were also the victims of a break in.

It is not known if the two incidents are related.

Abbie Robbins, who owns Yellow Bricks Recruitment, said: “The police got here within five minutes which is really good.

"They thought the thieves were here so they tried to call me, but my phone was on silent.

“The thieves broke the front door down at the bottom and then broke our door at the top to get in but after that, they went.

“Then, the police checked the scene and they said that the thieves had been up in the loft and that they didn’t actually take anything which is really strange."

Bucks Free Press:

The front door of the building is now boarded up

The company, who were formed seven years ago, have been based in Marlow since November 2018.

They only employ four people.

Abbie added: “This makes us feel very unsafe.

“Liston Court is quite dark as there is no lighting at the back so we have asked our landlords to get that sorted, because there seems to be an increase of crime locally.

“And with businesses now being targeted, it’ll make residents worry because if the thieves have gone to that much length to get into here, they could get into someone’s house.

“I don’t know why they would target us as we don’t have any valuables or cash here, but they seemed like they really did want to get in here, which is worrying for us.

“It has shaken us up, but we’re going to try and remain positive as we want as many people as possible to know so that they can make sure that they're safe.

But for us, business continues as we’re only a small business so we can’t let it impact us.

Following the break in, Sorbon sent out a handyman to board up the front door, but they have declined to give us a comment.

A spokesperson at Thames Valley Police then said: “We are carrying out an investigation, including forensics examinations and house to house enquiries.

"Anyone with information should contact police by calling 101 or visiting our website and quoting reference number 43200004065.”
