Carrols Hardware store celebrated 35 years of trading in Amersham yesterday (February 4).
It's the longest running 'one woman' business in the town owned by Carol Morris.
Town Mayor Councillor Mark Flys and past Mayor Councillor Caroline Jones visited Carrols Hardware Store on February 1 to celebrate the news, and present her with flowers and balloons.
Carol Morris said: "You name it we sell it.
"A lot of woman go and have kids and do other things but I've been in the town for 35 years now."
She discussed how in recent years being a high-street retailer is more difficult then it used to be.

She said: "It's challenging and you just have to keep going.
"There's competition with online sellers like Amazon who get stuff to you the next day, as well as chains on the high-street now.
"It isn't as good as it used to be."
In 2016 Carrols won the Amersham Town Council Business of the year award.
The shop sells various hardware items ans things you might need around the house like lightbulbs and mops.
Carol hopes to just keep on going with her business despite the struggle in recent years due to online shopping.
