Pupils at St George's CE Infant School in Amersham raise almost £270 in aid of the Australian bushfires.

The Year 2 students led a collective worship assembly and asked the rest of the school to help bake some cakes for a cake sale held on January 31.

Some children made cakes at home and donated them in addition to the cakes made at school.

An impressive £270 was raised for the World Wildlife Fund and they are hoping to adopt a Koala to keep up to date with the fires.

It's estimated that over 500 million animals have been killed in the bushfires.

The children raised the money after learning about the animals injured and wanted to do what they could to help.
