There has been an update on the housing development on Springfield Road in Chesham.
Following the submission of a planning application in May 2019, further comments were received from the Urban Design Officer.
The new scheme is still for a residential development of a total of 34 dwellings arranged in a similar way to the submitted proposals, but the buildings have been redesigned to provide a more contemporary appearance which responds to the existing surrounding context, but also creates a distinctive development on the edge of Chesham.
The site is located at the northern end of the existing Springfield Road which leads to a selection of shops and services on Waterside.
An existing public footpath midway down Springfield Road provides pedestrian access to Chesham town centre and the railway station.

In terms of meeting the local housing requirements the developers have said: "The site can accommodate a range of types, sizes and tenures of housing, which will deliver a balanced community to meet a
variety of local needs.
"The dwelling types will include one and two bedroom apartments in buildings of 3 storeys in height, and two, three and four bedroom, terraced and semi-detached houses.
"38 per cent of the total number of dwellings will be provided as affordable housing.
"The mix of dwelling sizes within each tenure has reflected discussions with Chiltern District Council and will comprise a mix of one and two bedroom apartments and two and three bedroom houses.
"Affordable housing will be integrated seamlessly into the development so that they are tenure blind."
The decision is yet to be confirmed on the new adjustments to the project, and more details can be found online by clicking here.
