Amersham train users could save £1,800 due to coronavirus

Recent figures have shown that Amersham residents have saved around £1,800 by cutting their rail commute.

Conducted by the US-based financial experts Bankrate, the figures have shown that due to the Government’s working from home changes, which came into play on August 1 this year, rail commuters could save £1,882 in train fares over a 20 week period if they were to pay weekly.

If they were to pay monthly, commuters could save £1,445.60 if they pay monthly.

Many office workers have been working from home since lockdown started in the UK, which was on March 23.

And alongside Amersham, Bankrate investigated the financial savings for rail users from other London commuter towns.

From the 29 commuter towns analysed, here are the 10 towns where commuters will have saved the most:
