The Marlow vaccine centre has been praised by many after it made international headlines on CNN Brazil.

Last week saw the first week of the clinic at Marlow Globe Park and over 1,600 vulnerable patients and health & social care workers.

Oliver Picard, who organises the vaccine centre in Marlow, featured on CNN Brazil after the success of the centre

Volunteers have also been speaking about the togetherness in the team to get the community vaccinated as quickly as possible.

Matthew Reed, volunteer and CEO of Marie Curie, said: “Finished my first week volunteering at Marlow Covid vaccination centre - what a privilege it is to do so with such wonderful other volunteers from our town.

“Real sense of everyone pulling together.

“And in the shadow of so much loss & sadness, powerfully cathartic & positive.”

Another volunteer said: “Really enjoyed my first shift vaccinating last week.

“Marlow vaccine centre have done a fantastic job of organising and it ran so smoothly!"

Local residents have also been impressed with how the vaccine centre is operating.

One person said: “I brought my father in on Wednesday and from the time we stepped out of the car and got dad in his wheelchair we had incredible service.

“The volunteers and nurses were so friendly, helpful and efficient all the way.

“Thank you all so much for what you are doing for us all.”

Their latest updated read: “As we approach the end of our first week of clinic, we can report that over 1,600 of the most vulnerable patients and health & social care workers have been vaccinated.
