A speeding Audi driver has been fined more than £1,000 after he broke the limit on the M40.

Christopher De La Salle, aged 51, of Claymoor Park in Marlow, has been ordered to pay a £1,200 fine after he broke the 70mph speed limit at Junction 2 on the motorway, near Beaconsfield.

On December 21, Wycombe Magistrates’ Court heard how De La Salle was travelling in an Audi A5 when he set off a speed camera on May 14, 2021.

The Audi driver pleaded guilty to one count of speeding at the court hearing.

Court documents do not disclose the speed at which De La Salle was travelling when he set off the camera.

As well as the hefty fine, the driver will also have to pay an additional £210 in costs and also received six penalty points on his licence.

Drivers who accrue more than 12 points within a three-year period can earn themselves a lengthy driving ban.
