A woman has been fined for driving at 51mph on a motorway.

Leanne Horwood, 26, of Saunders End in Hyde Heath, received points on her licence after she set off a speed camera on the M25 on July 26 last year.

The Nissan driver was found guilty of exceeding a 40mph variable speed limit, which had been in force between Junction 23, Potters Bar, and Junction 27, Theydon Interchange.

At a hearing at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on April 1, Horwood was found guilty of speeding via a single justice procedure, having exceeded the variable limit by 11mph.

Following the verdict, she was fined £38 and ordered to pay £124 in court costs. She also received three points on her driving licence.
