A young girl, who came up with series of commemorative Jubilee benches, unveiled her own bench last Friday.

Five-year-old Tulsi Desai welcomed the bench located on the corner of Oakington Avenue, Lodge Lane and Church Grove with her family and school friends from Little Chalfont Primary School.

The bench, which was erected to commemorate the late Queen Elizabeth, was the idea of young Tulsi.

She became known as ‘mystery girl’ after she suggested the bench to Amersham and Villages Community Board in a drawing with only her first name.

The Community Board then launched a search for her in March to try and find the girl behind the brilliant idea, so they could get a bench for her and her grandmother so rest during their regular walks.

Tulsi said: “I am so excited to see the bench and I sat on it over the weekend with my friends.”

Her grandmother Anjana Patel, who was visiting from Wembley, said: “Granny and granddad are so proud of Tulsi and hope the whole community enjoy the beautiful scenery the Chilterns has to offer from this bench.”
