These gorgeous bunnies at Buckinghamshire's RSPCA Blackberry Farm Animal Centre are on the hunt for forever hutches - could you offer them a home?

The centre currently has 21 rabbits looking for forever homes - including five pairs of bonded best friends who seem to be overlooked time and time again.

The number of rabbits coming into the care of the RSPCA, has risen dramatically in recent years, while adoption rates have not kept up, leaving many bunnies stuck at centres waiting for new homes.

RSPCA centre manager Julie Allen said: “We need more animal lovers to come forward to adopt our rabbits - people often don't realise that the RSPCA rehomes rabbits.

“I believe that we have more rabbits in our care awaiting homes than any other organisation in the country - and now with the recent start of the Chinese New Year - which is the Year of the Rabbit we hope this will help draw attention to some of the amazing rescue bunnies needing new homes.

“We have successfully bonded a number of rabbits together and it is just adorable to see their friendships blossom, but what would be the perfect ending is when they all go off to their loving new forever homes.”

Oscar and Starsky

Bucks Free Press:

Oscar has the unenviable title as the centre’s longest-stay rabbit as he’s been there since November 2021 after he was found as a stray.

He has bonded with sweet Starksy who has been at the centre since April 2022.  As they are bonded they need to be rehomed together.

Noel and Fifi

Bucks Free Press:

Fifi came into us as a stray. She is such a sweet girl who is so curious about people and her surroundings. She is docile around handling and interactions so we feel she can live with children of any age, she also likes to give you lots of loving grooming licks.

She is a firm favourite amongst our staff and has helped Noel settle down and learn how to interact with people.

Noel, may be small but he is mighty and this little dude carries a whole lot of character!

Stripe and Frost

Stripe and Frost are also long stay rabbits and have been at the centre since last year.  Stripe arrived in our care due to a welfare concern.

When Stripe first arrived in our care he was unsure, however is now gaining confidence and is becoming more inquisitive.

Cinnamon and Sugar

Bucks Free Press:  Sisters Sugar and Cinnamon have been in RSPCA care since December 2021 and were born at another RSPCA centre after their mother was brought into our care along with several other rabbits who had been kept in unsuitable conditions.

They are timid girls, Sugar is the calmer of the two and will come forward for food and will accept a fuss, she is calm to handle but much prefers attention with all feet on the ground.

Cinnamon is a little shyer but follows her sister’s lead when she knows treats are around and she too will have fuss.
