TRAIN CUSTOMERS were warned of travel disruption ahead of industrial action next week.

Chiltern Railways warned customers to check before they travel next week during industrial action by members of the RMT union.

The industrial action over pay and conditions is expected on Thursday March 16 and Saturday March 18.

What to expect

A significantly reduced timetable will be in operation, and trains will start later and finish earlier than usual.

Chiltern Railways will not run services north of Banbury on both strike days.

However, CrossCountry will be running services to and from Birmingham New Street to Leamington, Banbury and Oxford for connections into London.

Network Rail engineering works on March 18 mean that the line between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury is closed, and an hourly rail replacement bus will operate that day.

London Underground strike on March 15 means there will be no Chiltern Railways services between London Marylebone and Aylesbury via Amersham.

Passengers between London and Aylesbury should travel via High Wycombe, the train company advised.

Chiltern Railways services on March 17 and 19 will also start later.

There will be some minor late-night changes to a small number of services.
