Firefighters from Buckinghamshire were called to the huge incident along the Oxfordshire border which resulted in a small pet dog needing treatment.

At around 2.30pm on Thursday, December 7, the emergency services from Aylesbury Fire Station and their counterparts at Thame and Slade visited a property in Thame after heavy smoke was seen bellowing from the building.

The house also had blackened windows from the fire.

Once arriving, the firefighters forced the main door open and rescued a person and a dog inside.

Two teams wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire using high-pressure hose reel jets and specialist equipment to clear the property of smoke and fire gases.

Crews remained on the scene late into the evening investigating the fire.

Images from the incident showed the animal receiving oxygen, whilst large house sections were destroyed.

An investigation is currently underway to see what caused the fire.
