TWO people had to be rescued from their home on Wednesday after properties finally succumbed to the floods which have been causing problems across the area for the past week.
Firefighters from the Water Rescue Unit in Beaconsfield were called to a house in Ferry Lane, Medmenham after it had become completely cut off by flood water.
A man and a woman had to be taken to safety in a rescue boat operated by crews in dry suits.
The house was totally surrounded by water after persistent rain over the Christmas and New Year period brought river levels to their highest point in a decade.
Low-lying houses in Bisham have also been affected as the River Thames burst its banks in several locations around Marlow.
Wycombe Dsitrict Council began dropping sandbags around Marlow this week to help residents repel the rising deluge.
