A 60-YEAR-OLD woman was punched in the face and another female was attacked by a man holding a child during a row in a High Wycombe pub garden.

The woman suffered a bloodied cut to the nose while a 32-year-old pubgoer had her wrist grabbed and twisted during the argument at the Dolphin in Totteridge Lane.

A man became involved in an argument with the 32-year-old and twisted her arm up against her chest - while holding one of the two children he was with in his spare arm.

The 60-year-old approached the pair but was hit in the face by the man, causing a small cut to her nose.

Two men from the pub then came over to calm the situation and the offender left in a van.

Thames Valley Police have today appealed for information about the incident, which is being treated as assault occasioning actual bodily harm. It took place at around 7.15pm on Wednesday, April 2.

The offender is described as being of mixed race, 5ft 9ins tall, aged in his thirties, of slim build, with brown eyes and black hair.

Investigating officer PC Ryan Webb, from High Wycombe police station, said: "I would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has any information about the incident.

"I would particularly like to speak to the two men who approached from inside the pub who helped to resolve the situation as they may have useful information which could help the investigation."

Anyone with information should contact PC Webb on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at

* A 31-year-old man from Windsor has been arrested in connection with the incident. He has been released on bail until Thursday, May 8.
