A NEW supermarket in Prestwood has welcomed its first customers after being declared open for business this week.

The ribbon was cut to officially open the Sainsbury's Local store in Wycombe Road yesterday morning.

The new store, which will provide 20 new jobs, was opened by Eilish Hudson of Barnardo's, Sainsbury's chosen charity.

Manager Chris Clements said: "I am delighted to be opening the new shop and am looking forward to welcoming our customers for the first time. I have a great team in place we are keen to play a prominent role in supporting local schools and charities in the local community."

I thought in another article Sainsbury's were saying that they were employing a local workforce. I may be wrong but I do not believe any of those pictured are local (Forgive me if they are but the picture is not very clear)

Such a stupid comment. It is quite clear that it isn't a carrier bag. It is a mask for protection against sunlight due to a medical condition, and yes they are local.
