Hollywood actress Rachel Weisz was spotted filming a new movie in Old Amersham yesterday.

The star is currently filming for My Cousin Rachel, an adaptation of the Daphne Du Maurier novel of the same name, and was pictured riding down Amersham High Street on a white horse on Tuesday morning.

She stars alongside The Hunger Games star Sam Claflin in the film, which tells the story of a young man who plots his revenge against his mysterious cousin, believing that she murdered his guardian. The film is set for release in 2017.

The Mummy actress, who is married to James Bond star Daniel Craig, was snapped by Brendan O’Sullivan, who owns a hair and beauty salon on Sycamore Road.

Mr O'Sullivan said the road was closed to traffic and Ms Weisz got ready for filming at the Kings Arms Hotel, where she waited between takes.

The hotel has previously featured in Four Weddings and a Funeral, Miss Marple and the TV series Midsomer Murders

As well as the film crew, a number of farm animals were also on set, with a makeshift pen for cows set up while Market Hall became a temporary home to a flock of sheep for the day.
