Students at a school in Beaconsfield have shared their experiences after spending almost a year working towards a Duke of Edinburgh Award.
26 students at The Beaconsfield School in Wattleton Road gave a presentation to parents and teachers, including head teacher John Fletcher, on January 13 about their experience.
The students, who started the programme on April 24 last year, have spent their time completing four different sections – volunteering in the community, improving in an area of sport, dance or fitness, developing practical and social skills and planning and preparing for an expedition.
Chris Thomas, administrator at The Beaconsfield School said the students have been working “really hard” in the community on projects like charity work and supporting local clubs.
She said: “I'm sure that these organisations are very grateful for their ongoing support and without them couldn't have operated.
“It's good that young people want to help in their local community and support other people that need. They are all credit to the school and I'm very proud of all their efforts and achievements.
“Well done to all of them.”
