Police are urging residents to lock their windows and doors in unused rooms after a series of 'creeper' burglaries in the Chalfonts.
The Chalfonts neighbourhood policing team reported six burglaries in December, four of which involved the burglar entering the house while the owners were inside.
The burglars are believed to have entered the properties through insecure rear doors in the early to late evening, while the homeowners have been in.
The team are now warning residents to securely lock all windows and doors in unused rooms of the house.
Residents are also being urged to report any suspicious activity to police, including anyone knocking on doors and paying too much attention to empty houses.
