A police investigation into the death of a pensioner from Chesham has been dropped after officers ruled she was not murdered.

Linda Harding, 68, was found dead at her home in Stoney Grove on September 29 last year.

Police officers were called to the address at 11.27am and launched a murder investigation after discovering the woman’s body.

A 41-year-old man from Chesham was arrested on suspicion of murder and was released on police bail until March 1.

However, police now say the man has been released without charge and it was concluded that Ms Harding's death was not suspicious.

An inquest into her death is now due to be held in July.

Crispin Butler, senior coroner for Bucks, will hear the inquest at the Beaconsfield court on July 5.
