DOG wardens were out in force at a school to reward youngsters for their poems.
The wardens, from Wycombe District Council, called in to Downley School, School Close, to present Heather Burrell, 8, with the first prize in the Dog Wardens' Schoolchildren's Poetry competition.
Heather picked up some outdoor play equipment and the runners-up, Lily Taylor, Elizabeth Welland and Matthew Dashper, received gift vouchers and a Dog's Trust goodie bag.
A spokesman for Wycombe District Council said: "Heather's poem was considered the best of the entries received, being fun and educational."
The poetry schoolchildren in Year 4 participated in the Dog Warden Education Programme, as part of the council's responsible dog ownership campaign.

Pampered Poodle, Pin it dogs
