It looks set to be all change at the head of Wycombe District Council tonight as members prepare to vote a new raft of politicians into the top roles.

As revealed in the BFP earlier this month, Katrina Wood will take the reins as executive leader of the council as members meet for the first time this evening since the election on May 7.

This term sees the introduction of two new Cabinet posts - Housing and Youth.

All but two Cabinet positions are set to change hands, with only Julia Adey keeping hold of her Community portfolio and Jean Teesdale getting the nod in charge of Environment.

Instead, new faces will be elected to several key positions in the administration, including Flackwell Heath councillor David Johncock taking over Planning from Neil Marshall.

Dominic Barnes will take over as deputy leader and will hold the post of Cabinet member for Engagement and Strategy.

Julia Langley will fill the newly created post of Housing, with the issue high on the agenda after the release of the reserve housing sites and as WDC looks to set out its Local Plan during this four-year term.

David Watson, who represents Flackwell Heath and Little Marlow, will oversee Finance and Resources, while David Shakespeare takes care of HR, ICT and Customer Services.

Marlow's Roger Wilson will assume the role of Cabinet member for Economic Development and Regeneration

And newly elected Richard Newman of Hazlemere South will fill the other new post of Youth.

All posts will only be finalised once a vote is taken by members at tonight's full council meeting.

Last year’s deputy chairman Ian McEnnis will take over as chairman after Lesley Clarke stepped down from the annual role.

The meeting takes place at WDC’s council chamber on Queen Victoria Road at 6.30pm.
