An allotment site in Flackwell Heath has just got even greener after a lottery grant helped pay for an eco-toilet.
With the nearest toilet to the allotments in Chapel Road around half a mile away, members of the Flackwell Heath Allotment Association decided to raise money to put an environmentally friendly toilet on site.
The composting eco-toilet does not need a water supply or to be connected to a mains sewer.
While the association worked hard to raise money towards the toilet with coffee mornings and selling fruits and vegetables, a Big Lottery Fund Awards for All grant of £4,377 helped them make their idea a reality.
The toilet was officially declared opened on June 1 by the vice-chairman of Chepping Wycombe Parish Council, Les Willis.
Since June 2004, the Big Lottery Fund has awarded over £8 billion to community projects.
