Shoppers are being given the gift of free parking in car parks in Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross this Christmas.

Parking in Warwick Road, Altons car park and Penncroft car park in Beaconsfield and the car parks in Bulstrode Way, Packhorse Road and Station Road in Gerrards Cross will all be free on the two Saturdays before Christmas.

Councillors have decided to allow free parking again in all South Bucks district council owned car parks across the district on December 12 and 19 in support of businesses.

South Bucks district councillor Luisa Sullivan, portfolio holder for environment, said: "We have offered free parking in the run up to Christmas for the past few years now and I'm delighted that we're running the initiative again this year.

"We know that Christmas is an important time for local traders and we hope that free parking will encourage more people to shop locally and support the businesses on their doorsteps."

Three car parks in Burnham - Jennery Lane, Summers Road and Neville Court and Broadway car park in Farnham Common are also part of the scheme.
